Depression & grief

Posted by foxynatalia @foxynatalia, Aug 21 4:24pm

My cousin just lost his battle with esophageal cancer . It took him in less than a year . I was there with him as much as I could have been . I’m so sad death has never hit me like this , maybe because he was so young. Maybe because he fought so hard and was so scared. My heart is broken. I can’t seem to find happiness in my day .

Thank you so much! You can have the same faith that I have. Just ask God for help and believe with all your heart that he will help you and answer your prayers. I am 78 and it took me a while to get to the point of handing everything over to God. All my problems and believing he would take care of them. It helps to also read the Bible. I read the King James version of the Bible. It's a very interesting historical story besides being the word of God. Just start from the beginning and read a small amount each morning or night. By the way, if you come across he word "Kine" in the Bible, it means cows.
Also just pray to God and tell him how you feel. Talk to him like he's your best friend and he is!
I'll say a prayer for you that you get more faith and you will.

Joeybugs,
You will be able to have a lot of faith. Just keep praying and believing! It really works! How old are you? I'm 78 and didn't have this much faith when I was younger.

Thank you. I’ll follow your suggestion. You sound sooo much like my poor ex wife She’s always giving me the same advice you just gave me. Our marriage was destroyed by her getting Multiple Sclerosis. We had to divorce only for financial reasons, but she remains my best friend and love of my life. So each day is pretty rough on me seeing her so incapacitated. I make sure all her needs are met every day, but we’re no longer able to live together. She requires 24 hour care, and I just cannot walk away. So I guess it would be nice if someone like you can keep me in your prayers. Sure can use them. Bless you. J

I'm so sorry to hear about your wife! Multiple Sclerosis is a difficult disease to deal with! She is right to tell you to keep praying etc. That's good! I'm sorry you had to divorce for financial reasons but sometimes that happens. You aren't really divorced except on paper. You still love each other and it's so nice that you are taking care of her! That's too bad that you have to be apart but it sounds like you see her often which is good. My husband of 30 years died a month ago of lung cancer. I took care of him as long as I could but it was getting to the point where if he had lived he would have been in a nursing home. He's up in heaven now and someday we'll be together in heaven.
I will keep both you and your wife in my prayers. I wish you both the best. God is there for all of us and it's all we need.

Thank you PML. I’m so sorry to hear about your husband. Nursing homes are awful. We tried that with Susan and I had to remove her after 3 weeks. And it supposedly was a very good one. It was awful. Thankfully you both did not have to experience that. Thank you for listening and have a wonderful day. I appreciate your time and caring. Best Joseph. Will keep you in my thoughts.

Thank you for the kind words. I merely finally had the sense to leave everything up to God and have faith.
I wish you and your wife the best and will remember you both in my prayers.
