More to the story...
After my F8 was normal for a short while, it went back up - lasted noted at 160. We also tested D-dimer a few times, which was higher than normal both times. So, I went back on the Xarelto for a short time. I wasn't worried because I didn't seem to have a problem with it before.

Unfortunately, I developed some sort of bleeding problem which we're trying to investigate. In the meantime, I'm back off of the Xarelto which seems to have helped stop the spotting. Dr. doesn't want to have me on anything until we rule in/out other problems.
