Started Vincomycin two days ago—for the second time. Finished my first 10 day cycle a little over a week ago, and the C diff returned within 10 days. So starting over.
I’m hoping to learn from others here how to get rid of it this time around. I’m doing all the things that are recommended, and did many of them before ever having C diff. Very frustrating.

My doctor 1st prescribed Dificid, which I read has a better rate of non-recurrence. My insurance did not cover it at the time, so doctor prescribed vancomycin. If I have a recurrence I will request the Dificid or look into FMT or Rebyota treatment.

@btc46 In 2018 I got cdiff from clindamycin. I spent 8 days in the hospital. I came home still very ill. This was in September. I had 4 rounds of vancomycin which did nothing. After 6 months of being ill, I got an fmt (fecal microbiome transplant). I believe it saved my life. I believe there's a treatment called deficid which works well. That wasn't around when I was sick. I think there's other treatments now. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. All I can tell you is I take probiotics every day and I am very careful when I need an antibiotic. Wish you the best.
