Glucose becoming more elevated
Hi There!
I am 80 years old and have been a Type II diabetic for 37 years. My glucose had ben under control up until June of this year. It has begun rising. It is now in the 300-500 range. My diet remains at about 200 carbs per day, which I have been at for about the past 5 years. I am on a Trulicity 3mg/0.5ml pen, one time per week and I take 1000 mg of Metformin in the evening one time per day. I am not taking any known med that could raise my glucose level. Anyone else experience this. What was the cause and what did you do about it? Thank you brotherchuckles8- aka Charles

My daughter keeps it in a hand bag in case she needs a shot or there is a problem with a reservoir.
I have rarely taken a shot since I’ve been on a pump because that would interfere with the pump’s calculation of IOB (insulin on board) for the purpose of the algorithm to work.
She does a shot when there might be a crimp or other problem with delivery. She was trained to do that rather than rely on the pump, since a high could get much worse if she did a correction bolus that didn't go through. She still does a lot manually.
