Anyone taken Evenity (romosozumab) for Osteoporosis?
Has anyone taken Evenity? I understand it’s only been on the market for a little over a year. I’m hoping it will help with my severe osteoporosis. Any information is helpful.

I wish I could completely answer this, but I really don't know the spinal increase as it wasn't measured on the Dexa scans I have had. But I had taken Prolia for 2-3 years before Evinity and have returned to is now that I finished that 12 shot series. In the middle of all this, I realized that I was consuming massive amounts of salt and did not know it was depleting calcium, despite my supplements. I consume little dairy for other reasons. All I know is that my number was better after the Evinity.
Thank you! I hope your numbers continue to improve!
I do id a year on Evenity. No side effects except the first time I had some achyness the next day. After that, no problem.
Had gains also.
I am so hopeful. I am 3.5 months into Evenity with no side effects. My dr. Was pleased that my p1np increased considerably, so he is optimistic that I will end up with stronger bones. My dexas were never bad, so they might not be a good indication of improvement.
But ... I am living dangerously! I figure my bones are stronger than 4 months ago so I went shopping and bought that gallon of milk. I carried it near my core, but I carried it into the house. And ... I went back in the pool!
Congratulations! This is an encouragement to me as well!
Is anyone is the St. Paul, Mn area on Evenity? I drive to Mayo for my shots, but I would love to find a place closer to me!
Brava! Always good to hear positive results!
I have a new fractures in my spine. I started Evenity on July 2. My pain doctor wants to put me on Calcitonin. Not sure if this helps to heal fractures faster or help with pain and how it’s interact with Evenity since both drugs are for osteoporosis.Anyone has any experience or been on Calcitonin for osteoporosis ?
Sorry for the delay. My femur and hip were down to osteopenia and the forearm was better as well. There has been no spinal evaluation in any scan I have had.
@sunny65 I tried calcitonin but I am allergic to salmon. I was told by McCormick that it is weak in terms of increasing bone density. I have read it can help with healing. Can you discuss further with your endocrinologist since it was your pain management doc who recommended it?
Drugs.com says this is a duplication, not an interaction. Dr. Ben Leder on YouTube has a video on YouTube about combining meds, but not these two. I would imagine with Evenity so new there are no studies on this combo because it is not used a lot.
Sympathies on your fracture! Is this your first one?
