Skin Care Question
Hi, For many years I have been fighting with my skin that is extremely dry but yet it refuses to allow any skin care product to moisturize it. After washing my face and adding moisturizer it stays extremely tacky and doesn't soak in. During the next facial cleanse for the morning or evening it tends to just roll off as I cleanse it. My face gets extremely dry and the skin flakes so badly it falls into my eyes. Any ideas or advice?

@gardeningjunkie Well, I know for me, it is working well. It is lightweight. And at the price point, I can use it as a lightweight lotion on my arms, not just a face lotion!

The biologics I mentioned that I will be beginning is for Psoriatic Arthritis which also should help the psoriasis. I'm just hoping that it may somehow help with the rosacea, but I'm not holding my breath on this.
Thanks for letting me know that the lye soaps from long ago are the same as Grandma's Lye soap and also where to purchase it. I also have placed an order for the Kiss My Face Soap that I found online with Amazon. The Castille soap (don't know if that's spelled correctly) was purchased at Walmart today along with the other supplies I learned about on here and want to try. Thank you each for everything that was mentioned.
The one thing I am going to work on now is to only use water on my face during the morning and use the other products during the evening cleaning regimen. Taking care of my skin in a gentle fashion is a strong focus that I'm going to work harder on.
I have much to learn, tons of research to still conduct and praise to God the Father for each of you and your insights and care. Thank you and have a great evening.
I am looking forward to getting out the crochet needles and yarn this weekend to practice the stitches by working to make a washcloth. Thanks for the insight on how to do it. Even if I bomb it this weekend, it will still be fun. 🙂 I'm smiling that it will get softer with more use. Thank you.
I am looking forward to my next doctor appointment to inquire about the eye cream and hopefully getting some relief from my eyelid condition. I'm grateful for the information about it.
That was horrible about the Vaseline and getting it into the eyes after just putting it on the brow bone. That story has saved me from even beginning to put it on my brows. Sorry it happened to you though.
I will be doing the morning ritual you mentioned of washing the face with water and then just using moisturizer. My face will probably be thanking you in a few days. 🙂 I will look for the Burt's Bees Exfoliator. I will search for the O'Keefe's. and the Emu oil. I've not had a very good ending with any other oil, yet.
Now, as we trudge through days ahead may we each greet the day with freshly cleaned and moisturized faces with no dreadful issues. Each of you have helped me and I could never ask for a better group of confidantes. Full steam ahead and may we each celebrate every moment. Blessings to you.
