CBD

Hello All,

Not sure if this is allowed or not, but my rheum group has a cannabis clinic and I met with a PA about it last week about it. I don't want to take anything with THC as weed and I have NEVER gotten along.
From what I've read, there will always be a trace of THC in the CBD but I guess I'm willing to try it anyway.
The PA gave me the names of 2 places that sell only CBD, no medical mj. The places look ok. Not much choice and one looks like it's going out of business.

I know this is a stretch and don't even know if it's permitted out here, but if anyone buys pure CBD and you trust your source and are willing to share, that would be wonderful.

Thanks for any feedback on this.

Hi Glinda,

I tried CBD oil tincture a few years ago. It did nothing for me but you know, we're all different. Those stores are on almost every street corner here in Vegas. Some are very reputable but obviously in it for the money Try it and see! Speak with the people behind the counter. Most are very knowledgeable and can recommend something for your size and age. Good luck!

Hello,
I had a friend who worked in California at a facility growing and processing hemp to make CBD products. He recommended this website. https://ojaienergetics.com/ as being one of the very top producers of CBD products. There are many choices out there, it is important to do research and check reviews and also return policies.
Wish you the best on your journey!

Thanks, Karo. Sorry CBD didn't work for you. As you mention, my trust level of pretty much any product or service these days is ground zero. A possibly "bad trip" from a CBD gummy pretty much scares the hell out of me due to bad experiences with weed in the past. I know CBD is supposedly without THC but from what I've read, all of them will have a trace (if they are the real deal to begin with) just because they can't remove every bit during processing. I'm so sensitive to it, even that little bit concerns me. Add to that the trust factor of the market glut and I'm shaking my head. Thx for posting and take care.

Thanks, Kate. I appreciate your offering the site as a trustworthy one. Very hard to trust these days. I have been researching to the point of no return! I need to take a leap of faith and just go for it. Take care.

Hi G, don't give up. Will your pcp give you anything for pain? This disease affects our quality of life. I'm 74 and refuse to live my last decade in pain. My days are basically cut in half until I can function, walk, do my hair, etc. as afternoons get better. Keep trying for relief. I'm with you!

I just turned 75, Caro, and I feel the same way. I think you said before that you take pred. Hey, if it helps you, and you can tolerate the side effects, it is the way to fly. We are in deep winter, and you're right, we need to live our best lives possible. Sounds like you're having trouble in the AM. Hope your less painful afternoons get better and the mornings improve greatly as well. Best to you!!!

Hi g,
Thank you for your kind reply. Prednisone did help the shoulders and hips but not the neck pain. When the fingers and hand pain started it was a shock. Methotrexate helped that pain but not the body stiffness. Do you ever feel because of our age, the doctors don’t have an immediate interest to research this devastating and debilitating disease? I’m trying to stay positive here!

Hi Karo,
I am certain that your question about docs is 100% true. I think overall, they are just less "available" to all age groups but certainly, many have less tolerance and probably not incented financially to deal with older people. We are just too much trouble and don't generate enough money for them. My experience since PMR has been insulting. And I'll just stop there. I have disengaged with the huge rheum group that has basically overtaken the DC metro area. Will try to find someone else or just get thru this thing with Tylenol (does basically nothing) and CBD or LDN if I ever get up the nerve to take them.
I really do wish you the best and I want to be positive as well. It really helps. Hugs.

Does light exercise help? Swimming and Yoga have keep me mobile - and Prednisone!

I feel so fortunate to have found a geriatric group here. They truly care about us "elders". The nurses and front office staff are soooo patient with everyone. This group has restored my faith in doctors.

Good luck and feel better!

Hi glinda,

We are on the same page. I posted earlier the rheumatologist I was seeing quit, starting her own practice..cash only. The new one is Humana HMO and so screwed up with the office help. I have a PPO Aetna insurance so paying is not a problem. When a lot of doctors left, big corporations are buying up the practices. Staffing and quality suffers. 3-6 month waiting period for a specialist.
Try something, take it with a friend around in case of a bad reaction. Good to hear from you!
