Is oral CBD oil helpful for nerve pain?

I tried CBD oil under my tongue and it only made me feel a bit foggy headed and nauseous. But I kept the bottle and years later, in desperation, rubbed it on skin where I had terrible pain from shingles. It immediately stopped the burning electrical type pain that comes with that illness. So then I started using it to rub into my skin over wherever I am having pain. And it works! I use the balm also but I believe the liquid works better. Perhaps that has to do with concentration. CBD oil was made legal under the Farm Act many years ago I understand, so as long as it has only a minimal of THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana, it is legal. However, I did read that some states have rescinded that law and don’t allow even that. I am not sure about which states. I order from a company called Deep Relief in California and so far have not had any problems. It is very helpful although not as easy as a pill. But it can make the difference between bearable and unbearable pain, and with opioids on the chopping block it is important to know about.

What type of oil did you use. I currently have shingles for the last month and half. I take opiates but don't want to. I also just got diagnosed with Lung Cancer. Any help you can provide. Would be helpful.
