Laser Hair Removal

I’m no expert, but I have read that the hair to be removed by laser must be dark in color. I’m disappointed, because most of my hair is blonde or light colored, so I don’t think I’m a good candidate. I’m exploring electrolysis instead.

I’ve had vitiligo myself and looked into laser hair removal. After speaking with a dermatologist, I learned that the laser can sometimes irritate the skin and possibly cause new vitiligo spots. I decided against it because the risk of triggering more depigmentation wasn’t worth it for me. I’d recommend seeing a skin specialist who understands vitiligo well before making a decision.
