What is the recommended treatment after 6 Pluvicto doses?

Posted by donalan @donalan, Mar 13, 2023

I will have had 6 Pluvicto doses next month. PSA has decreased some. SE have been much easier to tolerate than chemotherapy. What is the recommended maintenance treatment after receiving Pluvicto?

larke, I am happy to hear that there are clinical trials for men who could benefit for more than six Pluvicto infusions. My husband is already worrying about what comes after his sixth infusion in August.

This is somewhat on the experimental side. IF good reaction (much lower PSA) and still functional, UPennMedicine is trying this. Seems logical. Delay from March ‘til now for me to recover from cumulative effects of radiation.
I’m 85.
Luck .

Wanting to know what doctors are telling patients about what is course of action after first six pluvicto treatments?

Can Pluvicto be repeated?
Has it been in EU where it was approved longer ago?

No initial delay. Completed the usual 6 treatments, six weeks apart. Relative success: PSA 75 to 8. March 13 completed.
Agreed to be a test case for MORE Pluvicto and will likely begin in early August. Likely two or three applications.

Can you tell me who is heading up the “extra Pluvicto dose” study? I am currently on Pluvicto and will be facing the same issue of “where do we go next” when I finish the six dose regimen. It would be great for my medical team to follow the results of that study!

Completed Pluvicto #6 July 16 and am happy to hear the
possibility of additional treatments if needed. PET scan Sept 04 then a sit down with my Doctors to decide next move.

Lupron and Nubeqa for me. They mentioned something about 2 years of it. I’ll find out more when I go back in September And have my scan.. I completed my 6th.dose in April. I went straight from chemotherapy to Pluvicto so I was already on the two drugs mentioned above when I started pluvicto.

The FDA has only approved six treatments of Pluvicto, so that is all men can receive in the US. A few US sites are doing clinical trials of extra Pluvicto infusions. (I learned on Wednesday, August 14, that Mayo Rochester is not one of them. We asked during an appointment with Dr. Kwon, and got the same answer later that day from the Nuclear Medicine providers giving my husband his sixth Pluvicto infusion.)

I finished 6 rounds of the original clinical trial Lu177 PSMA-617 in 2022 with remarkable results. It was approved in the US a few months later as Pluvicto. Now, I will be one of the first patients to repeat the same 6 treatments, starting Sept. 3, 2024. Going into unknown territory, again. Beats dying without trying.
