Bronchiectasis Clinic at Mayo Jax ?

Posted by spider109 @spider109, Aug 10 7:09am

Can anyone tell me if there is a Bronchiectasis Clinic at Mayo Jax ? I’m already a patient there, and was seen by Dr. Lee in the Pulmonology Dept. He diagnosed me with significant Bronchiectasis, but never mentioned anything about a clinic there. I thought I had read one time they did have a Bronchiectasis Clinic at Mayo Jax. Thank-you.

That sounds like a great idea. Now is not to soon to make that call - waits can be lengthy for some specialties.
In the meantime keep up the airway clearance and let me know how you're doing.

I go to Mayo in Jax. There are several Docs that specialize in Bronchiectasis and MAC but as far as I know there is no clinic specifically for BE and MAC. I asked, if there was a respiratory therapist that could help With instructions on autogenic drainage or other techniques for bringing up mucous and was told no. I was told the campus was not physically large enough to have that amount of staff in pulmonology. The Mayo in Rochester does have at least one respiratory therapist. The Mayo in Jax specializes in transplants.
