I’m worried about what’s coming with menopause. Any advice/guidance?
Hi there,
I knew extremely little about menopause. I’m probably in perimenopause, as I’ve not had a period in over six months…
I know that menopause differs for everyone, and I’m afraid and worried about what might be coming.
How do you know if you need HRT? Is there anything that can help hot flashes if I get them?
What are the differences as far as what you experience between perimenopause and menopause???
I’m so ignorant about so much. Any resources would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I just powered through, thinking "what did women do in olden times?" I did not want to do HRT due to hearing it may lead to cancer. There are homeopathic herbs that may be the natural way to go if the going gets too rough. Get all the information you can because information is power and will help give you a sense of control.
I think I have it too. Please let me know if the pelvic PT helps. Good luck and thanks!
I got through it as well without hormone therapy. It’s not horrible, just different. I will say that weight starts to creep up on you starting now, and I would change how I approached that if I could go back. Good luck!
Here is one thing I would say..... stay active by cardio, resistance training and impact. All critical to keep our bodies healthy. Also, eat calcium rich foods and take a calcium citrate supplement.
Ask your physicians, family & OBGYN.
Also go to your local library as lots has been written.
......or as my students say, "GOOGLE IT !"
( also store up on Chardonnay...or drink of your choice 🙂

My whole thinking with menopause, and other life changes, is to just get educate about it. Talk to women who have gone or are going through the same experience. I find women in general as so open and willing to share their experiences.
When I was going through menopause, I found there were triggers that made me uncomfortable with hot flashes. Things like stress, caffine, a drink with drink, hot spicy foods. So I eliminate some of that for awhile. I do know every one is different. I do recommend taking to your gyn and at least knowing what options are available.
Here is the beauty of all this. One way or another, we all come out of it as a new person. I didn't over think it. I became informed.
Good luck to all dealing with it.
