Anyone try Onero Online?

I am thinking of paying $5/mo for Onero Online. Has anyone had success using it?

Of interest?

This is from OsteoBoston. Our next session (Tuesday, June 10th at 7 pm ET) is with BELINDA BECK (the originator of the ONERO program!)

This is a follow up from the Belinda Beck presentation regarding Onero. It's by a different PT who has a program called Strong Bones and I found her perspective interesting.

Yes, thank you! I have watched Margaret Martin. Onero is based on LiftMOR which showed huge improvements in bone density in some very frail people. I hate exercise so want to make sure what I do is the most helpful. I probably should start working more seriously on my attitude! 😁

“ Results show that 86% of patients increased bone mass at the lumbar spine and 69% of patients increased bone mass at the hip ”

Hi Deb,
Where are you in New Mexico? I'm in Santa Fe and like you, wish there were an Onero Program here. Did you sign up for the online course? If you have, please let me know what you think about it so far? I try to work out on my own at home but definitely need a more structured program.

I didn't. My doctor recommended a physio who practises her own variant of it. Onero was developed here in Brisbane. My physio not only doesn't want to pay their licence fees, but thinks their program is too restrictive. Although I have been on anastrozole for two years, my DEXA results are improving. Two gym sessions a week are enough. I don't do much walking because Chemo Induced Peripheral Neuropathy makes walking unpleasant- it's like walking on wet sand all the time.

Hi! So great to hear that your DEXA results are improving even while on anastrozole! Just 1.5k yrs into Letrozole I’m in osteoporosis at 59 yrs. My oncologist wants me to try Zometa and I have first infusion scheduled next week I’ve very nervous about side effects but feel much walking, light weights won’t be enough! Did you do a biophosphate at all? Xo

I can't believe there's only one post about this since yours last year.

After I read about the LIFTOR study (done at the same place they do Onero) I went to a physical therapist here to get up to lifting heavier weights (this after that WRONG advice w my dx 6 years ago, don't life more than 10 pounds). Then after reading Peter Attia's book, OUTLIVE, I started looking at some of his podcasts and one was an interview with this lady - Bonnie something I think her name is - in Queensland where she developed the program

I looked to see if any PTs do it here and in fact found two, one in CA and one on Long Island. THOUGHT of moving to NY for a year to go to them but I may try the online one. Maybe w a trainer's help.

I do look at all the Magaret Martin stuff, think of buying on of her vibration plates too. I'm really scared of Evenity because of the heart attack/stroke stuff IN ADDITION to the usual jaw rotting bone fracture risk. I have 3 friends who opted for Reclast, that may be the one I resort to but I'd so love not to do any.

Like others here, I too take Algae Cal
and my scores got worse. BUt I didn't really give up coffee. After that dexa I did (today I allowed myself a SMIDGEN of caffeine grinds in w my decaf becuase so exhausted and packing for a move.

Belinda Beck developed ONERO from her LIFTMOR trial and I'm so lucky to live in Brisbane and train it at the Bone Clinic here twice per week. I would highly recommend finding an actual provider because the strength training is designed to be performed under supervision. The online programme is less intense for safety and trains mainly balance and impact.

I have started to try and research the Onero Program. I have been working out intensively for 5 years with no improvement in my bone density. There is one certified trainer in New Jersey and you have to live there. I did see on the Onero Website that they offer an online program for two years for $5.00 a week without supervision from a trainer.
Has anyone tried the online program?

As I wrote in a previous post (and updated below):

I've been doing Onero online for a year and a half. I'm now on level 6 out of 8.

You will never lift heavy weights in this program...that's Belinda Beck's other (in person) Onero program. It seems to me that Onero online is primarily for flexibility, balance and joint mobility, with some limited impact.

You follow along with a video. There is also an instruction sheet. Exercises in the first 4 levels only take about 15 minutes to complete (you repeat a ~5min video three times). I do them 6 times a week. Starting at level 5, it says to repeat each ~5 min video five times. At level 6, it goes back to repeating the ~5min video three times.

I consider it a small, but useful, contribution to all the other things I'm doing to try to reverse osteoporosis.

All that being said, if I had the option to go to the in-person Onero program at a location near me, I would JUMP at the possibility (pun intended). I even suggested to my OB/GYN that opening such a program would be a "cash cow". It seems like there is demand, but far too few location options in the U.S.

There's one in North Carolina, too. https://www.bigivypt.com/onero-award-winning-osteoporosis-program/

Actually, it looks like there are over 30 in the US.
