Struggling with anxiety, depression

Hi
I'm off hormone last November for Hormone positive bc I Have been struggling with panic attacks and depression. My new g p does not believe in anti Depressants meds. So
I went to my naturopathic dr. She tested me and my hormones and nervous system have tanked. She put me on 5htp 50mg for depression and a homeopathic unda 212 for hormones. They are slowly helping but not fast enough for me. My gp did refer me back to my endocrinologist for hormones and my fibromyalgia but he is currently on vacation. To top it off I tripped over a box in my livingroom 3 was ago and sprained my knee, broke my finger and have a concussion . I am going into my 5th mth after radiation and still am struggling to feel like myself. My friends don't understand why I can't get back to normal life. Living alone thru this has been very difficult 😕 . I just want to feel some happiness again!
I am in councilling but have only had 2 sessions. Thank god for the zoom bc support groups I belong to.

@sue417 it is unusual for a gp to be against antidepressants. Does the gp know about the 5htp? I looked into that at one time for one of my kids. I would rather take a regulated medication that has been well-tested. Have you considered a psychiatrist or nurse psychopharmacologist? I hope you don't go on hormones!

I live alone and just fell at the side of the bed. I can relate to your situation. Hugs to you.

Hi
I have used 5htp off an on for 8 yrs it works well. There are no side effects. I would rather do it. I tried cymbalta once for my fibromyalgia. I had knee surgery and the pain was insane. It took me 9 mths to get off it. Worst experience. The homeopathic for regulating my hormone symptoms does not have any estrogen or Progesterone. My naturopath I have seen from the age of 32 i am 66. She's good . She also had breast cancer.

Sorry @sue417 I misunderstood based on the title of the thread you started , "Struggling Anxiety, Depression", and the fact that you went to your gp first apparently for anti-depressants. I thought you were unhappy with your situation. If you are happy with the 5HTP and with the hormonal treatments, and trust your naturopath, it sounds like you are on the right path. I am wondering though about the "struggling." Maybe someone else can chime in and be more helpful than me.

Hi
Although I have started the treatments fir my issues with the naturopath. Like any other medications your anxiety and depression are not resolved overnight. I also have fibromyalgia and had a wicked menieres attack yesterday. Sorry I forgot to add the words struggling with the fatigue
