9 weeks pregnant
My daughter is only 9 weeks pregnant. All day long she is nauseous and vomiting. She can't even drive a car. She has no relief. The Doctor prescribed Zofran and it hasn't worked. He said she could try Unisom and b6. She has also tried ginger. Does anyone have any other recommendations?

Your poor daughter, I am glad she is seeking help from your provider. Hopefully it will get better when she is out of 1st trimester.
I do not have any advice from personal experience, but did find an article on Mayo's News Network on subject that list ideas. Some you already mentioned. Article is from 2015, but advice still applies:
10 Tips To Help Survive Nausea During Pregnancy
https://newsnetwork.mayoclinic.org/discussion/10-tips-to-survive-nausea-during-pregnancy/
Another article recommended peppermint and acupressure. The pressure point to reduce nausea is located at the middle of the inner wrist, three-finger lengths away from the crease of the wrist, and between the two tendons. Locate and press firmly, one wrist at a time for three minutes. This is related to suggestion of wrist band to apply pressure to wrist for motion sickness and pregnancy nausea. Search on Sea Bands or Acupressure Bands
Don’t take any medications for nausea or vomiting without talking to your provider first.
Is your daughter able to maintain her weight?
Sorry to hear your daughter is not feeling well! Did the doctor prescribe the Zofran that melt?! If so she might ask her doctor for the Zofran pills that do not melt, you swallow them. I had severe nausea every day for 3 years after a complication with a stomach surgery and the only ones that worked for me were the pills, the ones that melt did absolutely nothing. I was prescribed one 8mg three times per day and wow what a difference that made for me! I wish you and your daughter all the best!
Thanks for the advice. I will pass on the information to her. She feels like she has lost some weight but she has a little extra on her so I'm hoping its ok. She is resting a lot because she has low iron as well.
I feel for her. My memory of my first trimester was that i never shed my housecoat except to shower, and i was either sleeping or throwing up for weeks. That was a long time ago when suffering was both expected and acceptable 🙄
I learned during my introduction to an RA drug called Methotrexate that Ginger tea helps - but you have to have the real McCoy - not the slightly flavored variety found at a grocery store. Below is an Amazon link to my preference. I steep 2 bags at a time in a cup and add 2 tsps of a good local honey. Take it at a slow pace.. I sip at a cup all day - refilling as needed.
Peppermint works for some people and I like it but it didn't produce the results of the Ginger tea for me.
Hang in there!!

Oddly enough nibbling on Cheetos helped me with this.
Here's what I found on the internet:
1. Vitamin B6 has been proven to improve morning sickness at a dosage of 100 milligrams or less per day.
2. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Diclegis (doxylamine succinate and pyridoxine hydrochloride) for morning sickness treatment.
3. Acu pressure wristband
My sister suffered from severe morning sickness and couldn't eat or drink anything. She was already thin and lost even more weight because she couldn't keep anything down throughout the day. This led to dehydration, but thankfully, a visit to the ER resulted in her being prescribed Zofran. I hope she feels better and find relief. If none of the suggested remedies work, please take her to the ER and I am certain that someone there will be able to help her. Make sure to let the ER doctor know that she also has low iron. Even though your daughter is having a baby, she's still your baby and as a mom you want to help her. Please keep us updated.
I suffered my entire 1st pregnancy in 1978, losing 10 pounds with nothing "extra" to lose and they considered hospital admission. They did rx something but meds have changed significantly in 40+ years
I also had gall bladder issues--biliary dyskenesia--hormonal changes in pregnancy are myriad and challenging. Dehydration is a concern, and keeping electrolytes in balance
I ate Nacho Cheese doritos endlessly, and that son cannot stand those to this day.
She may have a form of HG

Yes she does have HG. She is now just in the second trimester but not feeling well at all.
I'm not sure. I will ask her. Thanks!
Thank you!
