Has anyone experienced a sudden floating cloud in you vision
Out of nowhere I noticed the best way I can describe it as a cloud. I’m not sure if it actually floats or fixed. When I move my eye it moves, but appears to move a little more when I fixate. The retina doctor couldn’t see anything and said just probably dry eyes. If you catch the sun just right it looks like millions of small dark short lines with space between them.
Has anyone eye experienced this phenomenon?

Have to test vitreous that's what it is in my eye
Detached vitreous
I have detached vitreous also. My warning sign was a flashing light that seemed to zip past the right side of my right eye.
One thing that I have learned is that when odd things start to happen to your eyes it is better to go to see a specialist immediately. Do not wait. If it is nothing, wonderful. If it isn't, as was my case, I could right now be blind in one eye.
As someone who has had retinal holes and tears in their past, if you see a sudden increase in floaters, not just a few which is quite common when one ages, but a marked increase, then if I couldn't get into to see an opthalmologist right away, I would go to a hospital ER department.
Retinal tears can lead to retinal detachments which is a medical emergency.
Not to frighten you but if it's marked increase in floaters, it needs to be checked out asap. Other signs of a potential detachment is if you experience 'flashing lights' or what appears to be a curtain falling over part of your vision - a medical emergency - don't wait for an appointment - go to an ER department - you will likely be triaged right away.
Thank you
Thank you
@jbabilonia Welcome to Connect. I have detached vitreous in both eyes, and my opthalmologist said this is kind of normal aging that causes this. He recommended do nothing because eye surgery can come with a risk of infection that could lead to blindness. If I move my eyes, I just wait until it settles and my vision clears. My husband does have a wrinkle in his retina which has been stable since it was discovered, and it is periodically mapped and checked out.
Did you have treatment for your eye condition? I'm curious as to why you would be blind in one eye if you had waited and not seen a specialist?
A tear might have ocurred and there is no going back from that. When I casually called my opthalmologist they had me come in immediately. They have since given me the warning signs to look for and I have to be checked every few weeks at first and now every 4-5 months. Had I ignored it, a tear might have ocurred. 2 weeks ago my other eye has also started to act up and is also being checked periodically as mentioned. That is the reason that I suggested going to see a specialist because they can tell if there is something that needs to be done. I have not needed surgery, only monitoring.
I do have GA in one eye and get shots for wet in that eye. The other has dry and I get syfovre shot every two months. During my last shot appointment I told the retinal doctor about the veil and he was unable to see anything. I have an appointment with an ophthalmologist on Tuesday to get a second opinion.
