Anyone taken Evenity (romosozumab) for Osteoporosis?
Has anyone taken Evenity? I understand it’s only been on the market for a little over a year. I’m hoping it will help with my severe osteoporosis. Any information is helpful.

I believed swelling/inflammation from the fractures caused numbness and pain below the fractures. They also affected lower GI function. You might have other causes. Things got better, they really did. It takes time. I know it's hard to hear that when you are in serious pain.
I barely wore a brace. I still use it though- 3 years later- if I have to lift some things. I mostly cannot lift much! I don't think a brace is going to help that much but I could be wrong. I hope you can discuss with PT.
I didn't do PT or tai chi until things had settled down but I did talk to a PT about what movements to avoid and strategies to use. It is good you have a spouse to help!
This will be my third therapist in a 4 month period. They tried to treat the spine but didn’t take into consideration my osteoporosis. My pain doctor told me to go to different therapist and he said that she works with patients who had fractures. I have resent fractures in L5 and L3. They call them stress fractures.October 2022 I fall in my kitchen and had a compression fractures and those, according bone scan, are healed. I feel so bad that you are going through this alone. My husband is still working and most of the days I am alone. It’s very hard to do the simplest chores. I hope that I can handle Evenity and stop fracturing my spine. You been very informative and helpful to so many people on this site. Thank you so much for your responses.
@sunny65 I am doing well now (Tymlos brought me from severe to borderline osteoporosis) and acute fracture pain improved w/in two months. And you will do fine too! The pain gets better! Just be cautious with PT providers 🙂
Well, I finally decided to give Evenity a go, Had my first shots on Wednesday . Thankfully, I'd say it was like any other vaccine shot that I have ever gotten. Took about half a minute each arm. I felt slightly lightheaded for a few minutes then I was off and running. Took it easy in the pm. Fell asleep easily enough, and slept like a log. The next day, with the exception of soreness at the injection site, I felt good! Back to exercise etc. So far, so good...one down...11 to go! 🙏
Anyone have any idea how long after completing Evenity that you can take forteo or tymlos?
I know from the literature that you can't follow up Evenity with either of these but there wasn't any comments about when, or if, you could eventually take either of them
@ann707 we need research on this I think! I wonder if any posters here can let us know they have done this sequence. It isn't mentioned in McCormick's book or any videos probably because Evenity is so new. (I was told I was the only patient in both of my endocrinologists practice, doing Evenity after Tymlos, which seems, from this forum, to be a more accepted sequence.)
I did my second round of shots on Tuesday. My endocrinologist advised me to do in to abdomen. It was no pain at all. Evenity peaks day 7-14. I had dizziness, rapid heart beat and fatigue. Which lasted about a week.
Besides I had a horrible back pain prior Evenity and it increased since I started it. Not sure if this is from additional stress fractures I got recently or Evenity itself . Good luck and I hope you don’t have any bad side effects.
Thanks for the heads-up!
I'd like I do on this too.
I too was wondering if you were on Prolia prior to Evenity? I had two years of Prolia before starting Evenity. If so, how much gain did you have in your spine on Evenity following Prolia? Thank you!
