Prenatal/Post-partum anxiety/depression

Posted by leilab1 @leilab1, Jul 31 2:25pm

My niece is a young, early twenties and just delivered a healthy baby a month ago. All throughout her pregnancy, she experienced severe anxiety/depression which left her weeping and sobbing every day ; unable to experience the joys of pregnancy. She has just been admitted to hospital psyche ward due to a breakdown. She has loving parents and a fiance who are trying to support her (Grandma now has the baby). Asking for those who believe, to keep our precious Holly in prayer. Hoping they can begin with mood stabilizers soon.

What a shame; hormones , stress , anxiety and combination of all three can be tough on anyone.

Sounds like she is where she needs to be. Glad she is getting help and not trying to "tough it out". Must be hard to be away from baby, hope they allow her parents to visit with the baby.

My thought are with the entire family.
