Anyone had cancer return while taking hormone therapy meds?

Has anyone had their BC return even though they are taking Tamoxifen or an A1?

Sorry to hear that. I’m 2.5 years on Anastrozole and having a local recurrence. Ugh

Radiation in my future which I hoped to avoid. Very concerned about side effects .

What kind of breast cancer did you who is taking anastrozole? and how old were you.
I have been on anastrozole since Aug of 22 and still cancer free. I have a MRI coming up in a fews weeks and I anm worries about that.
I did have 6 weeks of radiation after surgery because I have 2 node positive had clear margins after my surgery

Early 70’s IDC ER/PR+ HER2-

I did not have radiation. While there are no guarantees Anastrozole does cut back recurrence by 50%. And it certainly kept this rogue cell at a VERY slow growing rate (only 3% of cells in this 4mm tumor were dividing) KI-67 was 3!

MRI is the way to go

Don’t worry about the side effects of radiation. I had 6 weeks of it. I went to work did my full 8 hours. And went to radiation it took longer to under dress than doing radiation. The last week were hard the (sun burn ) was present. Make sure you ask for cream once you see it. Apply it as needed. It helped me.
Plus radiation helps as an extra protection layer

@anjalima there are lots of tips to prevent radiation burn at this link https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/radiation-burn-treatment/
I used fresh aloe vera and I had no problem. Just make sure you continue using it at least a week after the last treatment. I stopped a day after and the blisters appeared few days after the last round. The aloe vera gel at store (even 100% aloe vera) is not as good. Don’t worry so much. You’ll be fine.

Did you have any contracture? I have an implant.

Also concerned with skin staying supple for future reconstruction as I’m basically having a skin resection. This tumor is just between skin and implant.
