Best Calcium Supplement?

I use Citracal Petites (200mg each). I was taking only 2 a day (400 mg.) plus I get 300 mg in a multi but my nutritionist says that I'm probably not absorbing much calcium in a multi. And I drink fortified almond or soy milk. And since I love cheese I thought I had all my bases covered in calcium. But consuming so much cheese really makes my arthritis so much worse (all dairy does that to me) so I'm back to having no dairy and now I've increased my Citracal to 3 tablets a day.

I have used bone builder with magnesium by metragenics for years. It is a bovine based calcium. Also take vitamin K, Ostinal 450, D, and a multivitamin.

Thank you Doreen for your comments. What time of day do you take the calcium citrate? Do you take it with food? I have been taking Pure Encapsulations calcium citrate capsules 300 mg with lunch and then I take a multi with (Calcium carbonate to 50 mg). with supper. Sometimes the calcium citrate bothers stomach and I get pain. I also try to get lots of calcium From Food. Do you know why your nutritionist did not think you were getting enough absorption of calcium from your multi? Thank you for any thoughts.
