Sensitive guts

Posted by helen1000 @helen1000, Jul 9 7:09am

Does anyone have a sensitive gut like me? Sometimes I eat random stuff and have a diarrhea. I am intolerant to wheat and lactose so I am sure if I eat anything containing these two ingredients, I will have bloating or gas or have to go to bathroom. But sometimes after I eat vegetable juice, I still feel bloating or have diarrhea. So I am curious anyone has similar situation and how to deal with it.

Thanks for any input.

Helen1000, I hear about drinking warm or at least room temperature water in different places. Why? I understand hot water to aid with BMs(doesn't help me at all). I have also read that ice water takes more energy, burns more calories. I have no idea if this is true. For me, anything but ice water, tastes yucky and nauseates me, even double filtered. When you have time would you please enlighten me on this topic. Thanx, Shelley

Again Shelley, it is personal choice. Cold water irritates my gut and I feel cold and uncomfortable. I prefer warm water, and it warms my stomach. Maybe Asians are different lol.

Helen,
Thanx for answering my silly questions. I just 🩵, in today's society everything seems to have a discriminatory element... and you are bravely proud of saying YOU might be different, even if it is just warm water 😉🦋 lol

I have IBS-D and am gluten free. When I drink cold water I may as well have been glutened. I don't have Celiac but gluten sensitive. Probably due to the fact that I have something called CVID it's one of the conditions you can get if you have Primary immunodeficiency. I do infusions of gammaglobulin IgG to get other peoples antibodies because I don't make any of my own. I also have low IgA which can cause gastric issues.

Thx for sharing. I did all the tests and did not find any genetic or immune disease, just gluten intolerant. I am not even mill intolerant. But I adjusted my food to exclude gluten and milk and add probiotics . And I dot have any issue any more. I think the wrong food plays an important part to make my gut very sensitive.

I agree with helen1000, also on the point about the wrong foods. I took avoid cold food and drinks. You may have IBS. Check it out and see. There is also something called FODMAPs, types of carbohydrates that trigger IBS. Also, as far as drugs go, there are ones to help with IBS-D (but not IBS-C).

Thanks Guys. I really appreciate all the input. Please be very very careful about the food/drink you take!

I don't have diarrhea or constipation but seems what I eat is not well absorbed. some people easily gain weight by just "drinking water" but I keep the same weight for many years. If I dont eat well, I will lose weight. Is there any way we can improve our digestive system?

I think you are absolutely correct that certain carbon irritate guts. I heard that a patient cut off rice, and his severe asthma was cured, after struggling thirty years!!!
