Interested in side effects of Reclast Infusion

Posted by shrinkette @shrinkette, Jan 28 6:49am

I had a Reclast infusion one week ago and after some of the symptoms subsided, pain in my stomach continues. I have been taking Tylenol for relief and this all happens on the weekend of course and tough to get a hold of the doctor. Anyone else has this issue and what could be done besides the Tylenol?

Is the same true for Prolia? I am miserable with muscle pain an 20 other noted side effects. My endocrinologist doesn't think my side effects are related to the Prolia.

Probably so, from what I just read.....Have you taken any Tylenol? That does help with the muscle pain some. They should prescribe us a few pain pills while these side effects wear off! I do not think I will take anything else other that vitamin D and calcium!

I was not sure if it was infusion because like I said yesterday, I was fine up until 5 pm. Now I am having body aches again too, along with nausea & headache. I do not think I will be doing this infusion again! I feel horrible!

I have difficulty moving, hurting on hips, thighs and down each leg. I have pain in my side and back crusting or scaly skin, stomach discomfort excess gas, feeling of fullness and dark urine. I drink a lot of water during the day. I am so weak and tired I need to lay down and rest everyday. I also have trouble sleeping due to overall body pain. How could this be related to anything other than the Prolia injections?

👋 after several days of suffering with stomach pain and gas, I took gas x and got some relief.

Sounds like it is from the injection… especially if you did not have any symptoms prior. I even took a Covid test…. It was negative. I just wanted to make sure that it wasn’t the Covid!

Could the Reclast infusion make me feel achy and nauseated even a week afterwards? I had the 2nd infusion last Tuesday. The weekend and yesterday morning, I felt pretty good. But after lunch yesterday.....I feel horrible again!
I don not think I will do another infusion. Going to have to find something else or nothing!

I had my 1st Reclast Infusion 18 days ago. I was fine until around 3 AM in the morning when I woke up with low back pain and felt feverish. Took my temperature which was 101.8 F; covered the temp with Tylenol 1000 mg, and every 6-hours. By daybreak I ached all over, headache, chills, and fatigue. It was encouraging to read the symptoms may last only 3 days to 2 weeks, but I'm past that and still feeling achey, and very tired. I drank plenty of water before the 15 minute infusion and after. I understand from what I've read, not from my provider, that symptoms can linger longer than 2 weeks. I'm taking Vit D3 and Calcium as prescribed. I discovered from a friend that she had aches and pains, fatigue and headaches on and off for six (6) weeks post infusion. If they want me to do another Reclast Infusion the provider needs to give me an Rx for Vicodin to help address and alleviate the persistent muscle pains. I can't get any rest and some nights suffer insomnia, restless legs; having to cat nap during the day. I'm hopeful this will go away soon and I can feel normal again. Going to try an epson salt bath, maybe absorbing some magnesium will help.
