@platlite7, I hope you saw the helpful post from @loribmt with info from the American Diabetes Association. I'm also tagging fellow members like @huronshores @bosmac and @richie123 who manage essential thrombocythemia and diabetes (although I'm not sure whether type 1 or type 2).

I'm also bringing @2011panc and @windeyshores who have experience with type 1 diabetes and managing other health conditions and medications that can affect blood sugar levels. They may have some insights even if not hydroxyurea (HU) specific.

@platlite7, does your hematologist work together with your endocrinologist to help devise a treatment plan that works for you?

They lack a crossover understanding and limit their help to their own specialty

Mine is type diabetes. I manage it with Sitagliptin (Januvia, 25mg)
