A 2nd Lymph Node Biopsy after Lumpectomy?

Went to see the surgeon today, pathology results came out. Instead of the cancer cells in situ (in place, has not gone outside), they found some that are invasive. So now I have Invasive Ductal Carcinoma.

I will be doing Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy next Tuesday. They want to see if the IDC has spread through my lymph nodes (even though preliminary biopsy showed my lymph node mass was benign). Please include me in your prayers that the SLNB comes out negative.

All other margins are clear. Praise God!

Been emotional last 2 days, but today with the Dr I was calm, and my husband was with me. God must have said, one day at a time, I got you.

sounds like this is very early discovery. I had similar events. Lymph node had only 1 involvement. Good luck and healing wishes sent.

I also was told it was in situ but now is Invasive and now will be getting a Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy Oct 17. I have my pre-op on Oct 2. Please pray for me that there are no nodes that are cancerous. I see a few posts later someone posted where may be helpful to check out so I will look at those too. How did your Sentinel Node Biopsy turn out?
