The RA pain in my right foot and big toe this last week has been terrible. I have had problems walking because of it. My rheumatologist who is so to the point and no nonsense told me she would not treat my pain only the inflammation, l did talk to my primary about it. I have Chronic Kidney Disease so NSAIDS have to be limited. He did put me on a short course of Prednisone for 5 days. It has helped although my big toe is still sore and the Prednisone makes me hungry all the time and l had a terrible hot flash.
I guess you just have to weigh the good against the bad and roll with it. I was only diagnosed a little over a year ago and this was my first flare.

I do have RA etc in feet. A broken toe ( bone within pad of left foot) has. Never completely healed. And other bones of toe that ‘go their own way’ hurt in shoes etc I use Voltaren cream or live with it. See a pain Dr however for better specific help .

Hi.
I hope you find your path to better pain level.
Do you have clearance to exercise, and do you do some level of it?
My suggestion would be to engage in some program which won't create pain, except the expected soreness, to build muscle (even in the feet). If you have access to Silver Sneakers or even a pool, getting into a less that full gravity environment may be helpful. You can use a floatation device (pool noodle) if you don't want any weight on your feet but you should be comfortable in the pool setting.
Best!
