I had a total knee replacement in 2021 and had swelling on & off for 18 months. My doctor said that was normal, and expect to take up to 2 years for healing. He said that it was because I was more active as I healed & just needed to elevate leg. So glad I did it.
In March, 2023, I had a total knee replacement. I did have an Ilovera injection prior to the surgery and the sensation has never returned completely. I have excellent ROM and the knee is stable. However, my operated leg has a calf that is 1" bigger than the other leg and the calf and the thigh right above the knee feel extremely tight. Any comments for how this should be treated?
if swelling continue even after draining the joint
it could be allergy esp nickel. I had that problem, blood work confirmed nickel allergy and another surgery had to be done.
On another note in spite of two surgeries and two and half year , I am in more pain and much worse situation withe my knee. have sharp pain at lower part of knee. It feels like insert is not the right size. Consulted few surgeons but no diagnose of pain. According to them my Xray is fine so there is no problem.
Any suggestions /advise will be helpful. Don't know what to do
This may not help at all, but I live in southern Wisconsin & the Sauk Prairie Hospital here is very well known for its excellence in knee surgeries. Just a thought.
I had my knee replaced 19 months ago and I still have a very tight knee cap with little pain more uncomfortable. I have to wear a knee brace to eas the tightness. I would like to know if I could use prescription Taro Diclofenic
Thankyou
