I have not had TMD or TMJ diagnoses. However, if I have a dental appointment, I often have jaw pain from having my mouth open so long. My dentist suggested asking my chiropractor about it. I did, and he adjusted my jaw which was a very unique experience. He said he has worked with people diagnosed with TMJ. He is trained in the Gonstead approach to chiropractic, so I don't know if chiropractors who graduate from a different program would be as able and/or willing to do so. I live in a relatively small town and most of the health-related professionals are very supportive of each other; hence, I found out something I would never have known otherwise.
