Hi,
Just a quick note about my experience with colchicine. The day after my ablation I went back to the ED with chest pain. At that point they suspected possible fluid around the heart (turned out not to be the case). To reduce inflammation, they gave me a dose of 0.6 mg colchicine that night and I was then to take it once daily for a month. I took the same dose the following day after I had been sent home and within hours started to develop a rash all over my stomach, legs, etc. Called my EP and was told to stop immediately. The chest pain had resolved, and I had no further issues. I was still on Amiodarone and Eliquis at this point. Anyone who might have a tendency towards drug/skin sensitivities would want to be aware that this can be a possible side effect. I also had a skin rash from the electrode gel adhesive on the 30 day heart monitor and was finally able to use the bridge electrode option to complete the study. Just wanted to mention that colchicine sounds like a very good choice for most people, but as with all medications some may experience side effects.

Had the same reaction, after abalation, woke up in the middle of the nite my skin felt funny, little red pin point all over my torso and joints hurt. Stopped the drug the next day and they went away have it in my chart as allergic to it but they tried to give it to me again when I went for the 2nd abalation, need to check what they are giving you before you take it.
