Bronchiectasis & NTM Care Center Network 7/31/24 deadline
The COPD Foundation and NTM Info & Research are collaborating to create a groundbreaking network: the Bronchiectasis and NTM Care Center Network (CCN). This network aims to revolutionize care for patients with bronchiectasis (BE) and nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) lung disease.
*Faster diagnoses and personalized, high-quality care: The CCN will connect patients with specialized centers, reducing diagnostic delays and ensuring comprehensive treatment plans.
*Enhanced healthcare professional education: The network will equip healthcare teams with the latest knowledge on BE and NTM, improving patient outcomes.
*Support for research and innovation: The CCN will foster research collaborations and clinical trials, accelerating advancements in treatment and care.
*Empowered patients: The network will provide patients with educational resources to manage their conditions effectively.
*Increased disease awareness and patient engagement: The CCN will raise public awareness about BE and NTM, encouraging early diagnosis and patient participation in their care.
The application deadline is on July 31st, less than two weeks away, so now is the time to reach out to doctors we feel would be an asset to the network.
This outreach is particularly important for reaching doctors in areas without major bronchiectasis centers, as they may not be aware of the CCN.
If it would be helpful, feel free to work off this template:
Dear Dr. ,
I hope this email finds you well.
I’m writing to let you know about an exciting initiative. The COPD Foundation along with NTM Info & Research have launched the Bronchiectasis and NTM Care Center Network (CCN).
This network aims to improve care for BE and NTM patients by connecting specialists and providing access to the latest research and educational resources.
Doctors who join the CCN will have opportunities to collaborate with other BE specialists, stay up-to-date on the latest treatment options, and participate in educational programs.

The application deadline is fast-approaching on July 31, 2024.
Thank you for all you do for those of us living with these diseases.
Sincerely,

Let's work together to make excellent care accessible to everyone!
With much appreciation and excitement,

PS I hope this network becomes a model for other countries

Thank you so much for this. I only wish we had something like this on Australia.
I hope this network will be a model for other countries! Next year, the World Bronchiectasis Conference is being held in Australia, and there will be lots of information sharing.💜
Hi, Linda, Is the initiative hoping patients will send these letters to their doctors? Is it possible to see which doctors are currently on the list? Is there a fee for joining? Perhaps the initiative has sent letters to the major teaching hospitals and its doctors? It would be good to know who was sent the letters. Sorry if I am complicating things...
I agree with you. But no, we don’t have that information. And yes, I think all the major institutions already know about this initiative. That’s why I did some research yesterday and sent out a bunch of emails and social media messages to doctors who are not affiliated with the larger institutions. Some of the responses I got were to thank me and say they already filled out an application, but I did get three or four who did not know of the care centers. I’m a volunteer for the COPD foundation and I’m giving it my all! So, to answer your questions there might be some duplication of effort. 💜Linda
