Sensitive guts

Posted by helen1000 @helen1000, Jul 9 7:09am

Does anyone have a sensitive gut like me? Sometimes I eat random stuff and have a diarrhea. I am intolerant to wheat and lactose so I am sure if I eat anything containing these two ingredients, I will have bloating or gas or have to go to bathroom. But sometimes after I eat vegetable juice, I still feel bloating or have diarrhea. So I am curious anyone has similar situation and how to deal with it.

Thanks for any input.

Hellen and Shelley,

Good advise. I have had endoscopy. I am not celiac so grateful. I have multiple sclerosis. I was diagnosed at 25 years old. I have a neurogenic bowl and bladder. I have been using a catheter to empty my bladder for thirty years. I have chronic constipation.

I consider myself fortunate to have eleven amazing doctors to keep me together. The “Dream Team”. Puts Humpty Dumpty back together again.

Stay connected to as many sources of information as possible as you move forward on your journey.

May God bless you.

Here is an article about how to recover your guts when taking antibiotics. They highly recommend to take probiotics with antibiotics together.

Thank you Shelly, but the courage does not come from me it comes from God. I have been so lucky to have been able to raise my two children. Thy did not even know I had Ms. After they found out they could understand why Mom took so many naps. So many were not lucky enough to have such well timed remissions.

I just hope I can give or receive information on this blog. Thank you Mayo Clinic.

Stay positive Shelly. you will do just fine.

I do suspect that I lack some enzymes , i.e. those break down fat, because I don't like oily or sweet stuff and keep the same weight for many years. However I never test it 😂 I once took some enzyme pills but it also made my stomach discomfort. That is a great idea - I should have my doctor test my enzymes and maybe gut bacteria. I also plan to do a food sensitivity test! They also have some stool test for other stuff. Thanks for your input really appreciate it! 😃

I had diarrhea / flatulence and it turned out that I had Pancreatic Enzyme Deficiency, no history of pancreas issues, all tests revealed what appeared to be a normal pancreas (for 2 and 1/2 years now). Since starting Creon all issues improved, yet now I have occasional breakthrough diarrhea due to now being constipated due to Creon. Still it was a huge improvement so you may want to have this checked.

Thanks Creondave I had Creon before but it did not help much but caused my stomach discomfort. I suspect that it is related to my estrogen level. Also I am very careless about what I eat and always eat a lot or drink milk/ yogurt while I am intolerant to lactose. I find I am intolerant to flaxseed recently. So I think picking up the right food for your gut/stomach is very very important.

Have you tried peptide? That is regenerative medicine and front line technology. My daughter has a classmate who was suspected to have MS, so I searched for her. Though I. Not sure what type of peptide helps MS, but I do see many articles taking about piptide helps it. God bless you as well. I hope the most advanced technology can help you. Also a friend told me that a guy who suffered a lot from asthma cut off rice and he got cured. I hope magic works on you!!!

I will definitely look into that. I will report back results if I can take it. I always have to check drug interactions.
Thank you for sharing this information Helen.

Yes please do some research, as far as I know, it has minimal side effects and very good at regulating immune system.

Hey guys, I find drinking warm water helps a lot to my stomach. I don't have any irritation to my empty stomach when taking probiotics. Good luck to you all.

Helen1000, I hear about drinking warm or at least room temperature water in different places. Why? I understand hot water to aid with BMs(doesn't help me at all). I have also read that ice water takes more energy, burns more calories. I have no idea if this is true. For me, anything but ice water, tastes yucky and nauseates me, even double filtered. When you have time would you please enlighten me on this topic. Thanx, Shelley
