I have a pump also. It has not given me any pain relief in the year I've had it. It's output has been adjusted up, down, anesthetic added, with no help. My pain doc has not helped to address my ongoing pain. I have asked him several times to reach out to colleagues, look into other avenues...no luck. I find it hard to imagine that your doc would be so reckless as to ignore your directive to not use morphine. During my trial I had both morphine and hydromorphone used. Morphine did nothing; hydromorphone provided very good pain mitigation, so I went ahead with the permanent implant. The rest is history. I am seeing a new pain doc who is doing what I asked my old doc to do. Today I anm going for an EMG. Then we'll look at some other tratment options. My pain ranges from a 7 to 8 on a daily basis. Only lying down helps. I hope you can find the help you need.
