The beginning process of diagnosing endometrial cancer

Posted by tishie58 @tishie58, Jun 27 7:21pm

Hi, I have had a positive UTI 5 times in 6 months. Along with increasing discomfort in my lower pelvis and lower back. It feels like my insides want to fall out. I had a CT scan and it said, suspicious for endometrial neoplasm. I am waiting for upcoming urgent GYN consult.
I'm so scared. Age 66. Anyone experience this and where are you in the process now. Thank you so much for responding.

Good morning Helen, yes I'll come back and let you know how my consult goes.
I ended up telling my 46 year old daughter because she could hear it in my voice. I'll let the boys know after I know more.
I feel frozen, it will be good to go to work tomorrow so I can be very busy. Thank you for being there Helen, your kindness means a lot. Trish

@tishie58 Trish, you are very welcome. It's good you told your daughter. Even when we (I'm including myself in this) try to hide something from the people that know us best it can come out in some other way like our voice and body expressions. I hope your daughter will be a source of support for you.

Will you take someone with you to your appointment on Tuesday? In my experience it's good and supportive to have someone with you as they often "hear" things that we cannot because of our stress levels during these appointments. I also go to my appointments with a list of items to cover or questions I have so that I won't forget anything that's important to me.

Can you take Tuesday off from work or at least the afternoon off after your appointment?

Work really worked for me, too. Being busy at work, I could sometimes go four or five hours without thinking about cancer!

So do I, Trish! My name is Angie. Prayers and faith have sustained me all this time after my hysterectomy over a year ago.
I have had abdominal pain due to what seems to be functional dyspepsia, early satiety, constant nausea, etc.
It’s not easy. I had all kinds of exams, from gastric emptying to colonoscopy/endoscopy to PET scans. And no concrete answers.
I was recently referred to an integrated GI. She’s still trying to figure out what’s going on with me.
Meanwhile, I continue struggling with symptoms. Some days are more challenging than others, and the fear of cancer crawls in, but then I hold on to my faith and hope that I will get better.
Please let us know how your appointment went. You are not alone.
I will continue praying for you and your health. 🙏

Hi Angie, so sorry for all your going through, prayers for you as well. My new doctor had to cancel because she got covid
🤦‍♀️ I feel bad for her, I have to wait until the 11th! I am getting a transvaginal ultrasound tomorrow. I have to have patience. I asked my primary care doctor about seeing someone else but she really trusts this one. I just feel mire bloated each day and very tired. So much pressure in that area. Anyway, I do pray they find an answer for what is happening to you. Let me know how you make out. Trish

Hi Helen,
How are you? My appointment was canceled 🤦‍♀️ the doctor has covid. I am scheduled for a transvaginal ultrasound tomorrow, so hopefully it explains more of what's going on. I have the consult appointment on July 11th ! Feels like a long time. I do hope all is well with you. Trish

@tishie58 Oh, that’s awful that your appointment was cancelled and then rescheduled. But what can you do since your primary care provider wants you to see this doctor. The trans vaginal ultrasound may provide some information. Have you had one in the past? I’ve had these a few times. Not all that uncomfortable. It feels a little strange but the tech who did it with me told me everything that would happen, before it happened. That helped. July 11 isn’t all that far away although it’s terrible that you’ll have to wait.

All is good with me. Nothing new health wise and that’s good news.

Yes Helen any info sooner than next week will hopefully be helpful.
Yes I've had that test a while ago.
Happy to hear you're doing well.

Hi Helen,
How are you? I hot the results of the transvaginal ultrasound.
1: Uterine solitary fibroid 2 cm.
2: Endometrial lining markedly
thickened 2.4 cm concerning gor carcinoma, with increased blood flow. Hysteroscopy recommended.
3: No adnexal masses with ovaries visually obscured.
Still haven't heard back regarding result. I work for my primary doctors office. The radiology place sent report directly to me in a text message. Thank God I did have professionals to go to about this. I was literally shaking.
My own doctor and gyn doctor have not called me. My own doctor works in our off campus office. I have not even met the gyn doctor. I am sooo nervous.
Anyway thank you in advance for reading this. Trish
