Diarrhea as radiation side effect?

Has anyone experienced diarrhea the last couple of weeks of radiation for throat cancer?

Yes. Constipation as well. Radiation poisoning, although often discounted by oncologists, is a real side effect as far as I and others have experienced. If it gets too disruptive, don’t hesitate to ask the oncologist or your GP for recommendations. I used over the counter meds with success.

I had the trots through my entire Radiationa and Chemo treatment. I thought it was due to taking only liquids via a feeding tube. However, when I could swallow which was unpredictable and intermittent, I would eat, same results. OTC Loperamide helped quite a bit.
Best of luck!

Yes I had exploding diarrhea during radiation and chemo. Also took Imodium. Just remember, it won't be forever. Good luck.
