Do you have any idea who or how the mistake was made-which stimulaor (company) was being implanted?
This was not the trial but rather the permanent implanted stimulator that something went terribly wrong???? Since I am in line to have another trial with a different brand of stimulator (first one failed) I would really like to know.

I have an Abbott stimulator inserted about a year ago. Works ok. have had it adjusted 4 times.

I just heard about Nerve Savior a pill/gel to take once a day for peripheral neuropathy. Has anyone heard of it and or taken it? What's your experience with it? Is it a SCAM?

Welcome @soldman1, I haven't tried Nerve Savior but I don't have pain with my neuropathy only numbness. It's just my non medical opinion but I'm not sure there are any studies or proof that it helps with nerve pain. There have been a few members who have discussed Nerve Savior. It might be helpful to read what they have shared. Here's a link to the discussion and posts - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/search/?search=nerve%20savior.

The Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy has a list of complementary and alternative treatments for neuropathy including supplements on their website here - https://www.foundationforpn.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Complementary-and-Alternative-Treatments-Revised-2020-final.-1.pdf

I take Lyrica for neuropathy in both feet.sometimes it helps and sometimes I have to look at my feet to see if I am wearing shoes. I am type 2 diabetic. I used to take 60 units of insulin 4 times a day and in the last month I have taken 3 doses period and my A1c is 5.6 after losing nearly 80 pounds. But the neuropathy is here to stay.

I have survived cancer twice in the last 10 years. First it was stage IV nonhodgkins lymphoma marginal zone. 2 years of Rituxin and I just completed my one hundredth immunotherapy treatment which I have every 28 days. In the midst of this I had thyroid cancer which was taken care of by removing my thyroid. And increasing my thyroid meds.

Interesting comments about Gabapentin by all..
Had great physical therapy last dec and jan that helped enormously..
But bad flus and horrible weather knocked me down severely..
Since then to get sleep and feel better started on gabapentin..
Started very minor dose of 100 mg a day then moved to 200 mg at night to 300 mg at night..
Sleep got much better but not the ultimate pain reliever..
The constant irritation in my legs(thighs) is very very aggravating
and a bit depressing to say the least..

And I seemed to get some interesting
neuropathy in my feet that I never really felt before..

All this constant stuff has put a halt to keeping my muscle strength up to
par..
It seems to be a viscious cycle that I am very eager to halt..
And my very good physical therapist
has not been very positive about me
using gabapentin and doing physical
therapy at the same time..
The internet is a ridiculously confusing situation about these things..
Its crazy really..
Anybody have any comments about
my comments.

Hello, @thighirritationno1, Welcome to the club no one wants to join. Hopefully, by talking with others here and reading the posts on the Connect support group site you may find some ideas. My neuropathy in my feet became a thing after I had a lumbar laminectomy 2 years ago. In my case, I feel numbness in my feet, but not a great deal of pain, for which I am grateful. But yes, it is DEPRESSING, indeed.... and there seems to be little known by doctors other than trying meds and PT to try and help make it more bearable. Not the way I wanted to spend "my golden years." I'm 73. My main issue is that my gait/balance have been greatly affected by the numbness, so I am at greater risk for a fall. I do hope someone on the forum will be able to relate to your particular symptoms and offer you some hope. Sometimes it helps just knowing that one is not alone, that there are others going through similar issues. Take good care... and do keep researching! One thing I have learned over the years is that we have to be our own advocates when it comes to our health care! Seek multiple opinions if possible... and read all that you can find on the subject!! Best wishes! Mike

Hi "Thigh"
I take 900mg of Gabapentin 3x per day. I graduated up to that dose. Starting my second month and it is helping.

I am start physical therapy tomorrow (2x per week). I can let you know how it goes while I"m on Gabapentin.

Not to make things messier for you, I also take Cat's Claw and I use marijuana. Mary Jane helps with the pain as well. Cat's Claw is still under review by me. Hard to tell if it is working when Gabapentin and Mary Jane are taken at the same time. But I bought 6 bottles, so it does not seem to have ill effects. 🙂

Good luck and Cheers!
Jill the Pill
