In a few weeks. I am scheduled on pinky as it is bent and going numb in places and pain is getting old. Scaring from it having previous surgery will be a big problem too. A surgeon is a surgeon, that's what they do. I asked about injections and was told the best results are not so severe. I also have a lot of scaring.
As for this in the feet is Lederhosen disease that can need surgery if severe. I had one side done then it developed under the other foot. My new foot doctor said he doesn't do it because it weakens arch and can cause flattening of foot. We looked at the previous foot and saw it is causing me to loose arch support. So as you see there are lessons learned from other doctors. Orthopedic doctors are seeming to be my best choices. But it just may be the Doctor that ain't starving. Lol Good luck!

I have this disease and also Lederhosen which is same thing in feet. I have had several surgeries in my hands and feet. Recover sucks. It has come back several times and this last time it is growing pretty fast. I waited hoping it would slow down growth, as I was informed. Now that it seems so, I have a 90% bend in my finger with lots of scar tissue from last operation. It is really a mess. Some grow faster that others. I am scheduled again, but doctor said that there is a risk of the nerves being damaged especially since I have had other surgeries on this same finger. I really hate this but the damage already done by waiting is a major issue. I was told mine is very severe for a woman. I am signed up to participate is an ongoing study. If I can help someone in the future, Awesome! I suggest you not to wait to get surgery.

@scardycat After years of worsening pain, I recently got an injection into my hand. I cannot recall the medication at the moment, but it is approved for this condition. My pain is less but still there, and I still feel a lot of pressure when I try to open my left hand all the way. Surgery is the next step if the injection does not give me enough relief.

I went to a specialist for Dupuytren's. I have had many surgeries to keep my hands and me mobile. I also have the same mess in the arches of my feet (Lederhosen). I've had surgery in both feet. I used doctors in Houston Medical Center and for the most part, I'm considered a tough case. My palms are doing really good. Had the micro needle technique. I've had 2 and now to be 3 pinky surgeries as this stuff is really active. It rested for 2 years. I have used 4 different surgeons and each one downs the last one for certain techniques used. Now that my pinky needs another surgery as it is now 90 degrees and getting very thick. Plus I have too much difficulty doing things and my finger is going numb. I went to another doctor to check on the injections and it was a flat no. I looked up the process and I don't think I would like it. Kind of creepy process. You know there is no cure, so waiting is your call. This is the longest I have put it off because of other issues and it is my right hand. I was told if it is very active wait. So I don't care, it is going numb, painful cumbersome and the turning in of the finger is even more to deal with. I know this is going to be a big surgery. But I waited. My sister also had a bad case and waited too long to do her thumbs and that proved a disaster. A cousin has it and I told her to get it done. She has had no more show up and her finger is great.

I have had this for years and at times it bothers me up more than others. I had a hand specialist tell me to press your hand on a flat surface frequently and stretch it. As long as you can do that there's no need for surgery.

I have a hand exercise squeeze ball in my car that I use frequently.
Keep hands active. I put my hands in the 🙏🏽 prayer pose and push the together or squeeze the between my knees. Mine is associated with carpal tunnels another fibrotic problem.

@etta Dutch
How severe are your contractures.
Are they extremely painful to move, if you can move them at all?
