Just saw my result of KRAS G12D any hope?

Hi @zora0121, As you are well aware, KRAS is a tough mutation to treat. I've heard it described as 'slippery'. While more research is needed to help save lives, some of us don’t have time to wait for the treatments that we so desperately need. Being treated at a larger cancer center may be beneficial in your case with this rare mutation. Are you confident in the care you are receiving?
Others in the lung cancer group have mentioned G12D, and likely know much more than me, like @carlies or @campinggirl100.
Has your oncologist spoken to you about additional therapies; like the targeted therapy, sotorasib, or a combination therapy (sotorasib and immunotherapy or other)?

No, my Dr has said nothing. In fact I learned about my genetic mutation from my lab results, I'm in Alberta Canada and received them on line. It was only from this group that I realized the significance of Kras as a harder to treat cancer.

I’m sorry to hear that they didn’t inform you about your lab work results because it’s your right to know. I also live in Ontario Canada and I’m with the UHN group in Toronto. I was diagnosed with lung cancer in June 2020 and I had a lobectomy quite soon afterwards which was decent considering the pandemic virus was in full swing with cancelations. I learned more by myself about what I was going through than any doctor, they treat you on a need to know basis. I feel very blessed to be with them but I can assure you that it’s far from perfect, I realize that it’s not so good here with shortage of medical staff and if you have a bad doctor you can’t just get a new one, more than a million people here do not have a primary doctor. I try very hard to cope with all the problems but it’s hard to do, I think it’s good that you’re looking into your medical information and you can ask all the pertinent questions from your medical team. I sincerely hope you will get all the help you need to move forward and remember, don’t be afraid to make noise if you feel nervous, they often overlook your mental anguish because they only deal with your physical needs.

I learned I have Kras G12D, I had lung resection 2 months ago for NSCL .is there anyone who has had success or failure with Nivolumab also known as Opdivo for early stage cancer?
