What are your experiences with tramadol ?
I have been taking tramadol for over 20 years. It was first prescribed for knee pain. This was the era when they did meniscus surgery. I'm sure the medication is not effective for me now, but it continues to be prescribed. Any other thoughts or experiences?

Well, it sounds like you have designed a system that works for you and that's a good thing. Take care!
From the research I've read, what I experienced is not a reaction common or uncommon. I list it as an allergy, although no one (including myself) have ever heard of it. All I know is I don't want to do that again.
Thank you for the definition of tolerance level. My thought is that as the years pass and you continue to take the drug, there must be a point when increasing the dosage of drug accomplishes nothing in respect to pain relief. You're just increasing the possibility that you will be experiencing side effects. If I'm correct, I'm somewhat concerned that I have been prescribed tramadol for over 20 years.
After 2 failed back surgeries I had a pain stimulator put in my back that helps somewhat. Also was put on gabapentin. Tried multiple drugs with side effects to everything. Also what really helped was lidocaine 5% patches. Also I put as per creme on my ankles to help with burning. It's been a long journey.
Sounds like you have an effective plan! Take care,
Ah - money rears its head. Is she with a clinic or in practice by herself?
I guess this is one of the things that you will never really find out about. Like the idea of listing it as an allergy.
I tried Tramadol when it first came out when I was in the hospital years ago. It did not work at all for me. But this can happen to anybody considering our bodies are all a little different.
I'm so happy that it works for you. Take care and keep on being an "old fart".
Good comment
