Does Anyone Know When Multiple Myeloma Was First Diagnosed
I could probably spend time researching this if I had the time to do it, but I don't. One of my best friends mother died from Multiple Myeloma in 1972. I did not know this is what she died from, because I assumed it was probably breast cancer back then. I babysat the young children of the family the day of her funeral. I was young then. I have read a lot about Multiple Myeloma since being diagnosed with a slow growing Stage 1 form of it in early 2022. I receive publications from the International Multiple Myeloma organization and also have an excellent Care Team at Mayo. The question I am asking today is, "Does anyone know when Multiple Myeloma was first diagnosed." What source did you learn this from?

3 ReactionsThat is why I posed the question. I thought it was maybe in the 1950s. I knew my friend's mother died from it in 1972, because there were no real treatments until the 1980s. They have improved vastly since then and are numerous.
