Does Anyone Know When Multiple Myeloma Was First Diagnosed
I could probably spend time researching this if I had the time to do it, but I don't. One of my best friends mother died from Multiple Myeloma in 1972. I did not know this is what she died from, because I assumed it was probably breast cancer back then. I babysat the young children of the family the day of her funeral. I was young then. I have read a lot about Multiple Myeloma since being diagnosed with a slow growing Stage 1 form of it in early 2022. I receive publications from the International Multiple Myeloma organization and also have an excellent Care Team at Mayo. The question I am asking today is, "Does anyone know when Multiple Myeloma was first diagnosed." What source did you learn this from?

@kappaking wow! Who knew? Thanks for your research on this. I had no idea about the history.
That is why I posed the question. I thought it was maybe in the 1950s. I knew my friend's mother died from it in 1972, because there were no real treatments until the 1980s. They have improved vastly since then and are numerous.

Absolutely! In the last 10 years they have made a lot of progress. Thanks for asking such an interesting question!
