Has anyone ever tried Lyrica for neuropathy?

The LDN website dosing info states that for chronic pain, patients should be started extremely low (.5 or 1 mg) and slowly titrated up, with top dose being 4.5 mg. My doctor started me at 4.5 mg. Would this affect my results?? I have had no side effects, but in the two weeks I've been on LDN, not much pain relief.

Also, does anyone take more than 4.5 mg for nerve or other chronic pain?

I started at 1mg and moved up 1mg every 10 days. Now I’m at 4.5MG. It took 2 months to get best results.
I’ve been taking it 15 months now & I have no plan to vary the dose. It’s great for me but numbness is still the problem but no pain.

It took 2 months to really feel relief & I’m on 4.5MG now & I’m sticking with it.

I was at my neurologist yesterday and she said she would not prescribe it, that only Pain Doctors prescribe it???

That is not true. Any doctor can prescribe it. Originally it was prescribed for me by a pain doctor but now my GP at Mount Sinai in Aventura, FL. does & my neurologist has also prescribed it. It’s probably because she doesn’t understand the compounding of the 50mg tablets down to the lower doses. Most pharmacies can arrange the compounding.

I told my neurologist about it when I started LDN in 2019 and it helped me. (I'm a Crohn's patient who is now having normal colonoscopies.) He looked into it and now gives it to a lot of his patients.

Isn't Lyrica the same as Pregabalin? I get dizzy from 25 mg in the morning???

Yes Pregabilin is the active ingredient in both Lyrica and the generic medication. You need time to allow your body to get used to the med. Usually takes about 4 to 5 weeks to settle out and see if this level works and if the pain is not reduced then it's time to go up to the next level and that typically does not bring on the same side effects. Everyone reacts differently to the medication. Time is the best way to gage how it works for you to reduce nerve pain.

I have been on Lyrica for about a year. I don't have as much pain. Both of my feet are numb.
