I had MAI back in 2015. Took a pill (can't remember what) and the next sputum samples showed negative. Never have had MAI return but had many other bacteria infections. There are hundreds and all of them must be treated with different drugs. The lab will tell your dr. which drugs will get rid of it as well as which drugs it is resistant to.
