@celia16

I share your concern. I have the bottle of meds in my cabinet. I’m preparing to start it. Dreading it….but I have to try it, before my insurance will cover Lyrica.
And, Cymbalta may actually serve me better. Idk.

I’m ambivalent. I’ve read so much about it. Different people have different experiences. What I know is that my intermittent burning is excruciating and I can’t tolerate it long term. I’m scared and looking for answers, since my only diagnosis right now is Vitamin B12 deficiency.

Klonapin does help, but that’s a short term thing. If my burning continues, I’ll need something daily. I wish there was something to take on as as need basis, that’s not a Benzo, since I feel great on days there isn’t burning.

When do you think you’ll start and what symptoms did you have trouble with?

The Fibromyalgia I experience is “burning “ pain across my back. I treat it with Cymbalta and Gabapentin. I have not experienced one totally pain-free day in four years (sorry for that news) however it doesn’t prevent me from most activity. I also engage in PT often. I hope you give it a try, and I also hope you find that it takes the edge off your pain.

I realize I am very late to the party. Have you heard of CRPS? If your burning is located in one+ limbs and you have had an injury or surgery in the same area before the burning began, check out CRPS, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. At the very least, you check it off; at the very most, you may have joined us “Zebras.”

I am on Cymbalta. Started at 30 milligrams moved to 60MILLIGRAMS in currently on that dosage. I tried gabapentin and Lyrica, both no help only gained weight. That was 10 years ago. Went to a different neurologist he put me on his cymbalta and within a couple days I felt Relief. No side effects whatsoever. I got off sugar. I went to a plant based diet and feel so much better. Sugar is the key as far as I'm concerned. At this since 2015. good luck!

Hi I have burning also where are you getting your burning? If you don't mind me asking and how long have you had it? They put me on duloxetine too

Cymbalta made me really sick, nausea and vomiting++. Lyrica worked really well but the dry mouth caused severe gum disease so now I’m on gabapentin. Not pain free but manageable. Moist heat helps my pain as does physio and acupuncture but having nerve pain has been expensive for me. I do take Vit D3, B12 and magnesium which help some too.
