After my disappointing cataract surgery I went to 2 retina specialists, with nothing further to be done, just have my eyes/brain adjust. So with left eye I can see distance, and with my right (no surgery) I can read comfortably. As an accountant, I have to check numbers twice especially with my right eye, my left eye where I had surgery is not reliable.
