Tumour on pancreas 6cm, tumour markers 120,000: Need advice
My husband had a mass on pancreas 1-1/2 yrs ago but we were told to leave it and monitor by mri. 9 months after last MRI mass in pancreas has grown to 6CM .Also spleen ,& spots on liver they say 99.9% cancer
Had a EUS biopsy 2 weeks ago. Came back not usable. Having a liver biopsy done this Friday. Finally convinced to do blood work 19/9 tumour markers are 120,000! We seem to be going in big circles. We have appointment with oncology at cancer clinic next week I have contacted myself a Hepato/Pancreato/ Biliary surgery group as we want to know if surgery is possible with chemo. The group is triaging his case Our GP did not want to refer but I insisted GP says treat with chemo and if we can’t get a biopsy pallitive Does this seem right?

Yes it is frustrating. I have a reoccurrence to deal with now and am being offered two options. One will most likely be a quick fix and the other COULD be a long term fix.

Get a good ERCP inspection & biopsy of ampulla and bile ducks, pancreas & liver. That info should be helpful, if not revealing.
That biopsy was unsuccessful but they did have the inspection Today they are doing a biopsy on an area of the liver. Hope this one works
Sounds like they’re moving along as quickly as they can good for you Godspeed. Delays are the worst thing when it has to do with pancreatic cancer of any sort you need to move quickly.
Hi, Marie! I am in northwestern VA, not DC area, and have had ll my treatments and surgery in my local cancer center. We do work in connection with Johns Hopkins, 2 hours away. They reviewed everything and set up my first chemo. At least one of our oncologists spends one day a week working there. I have been there in person one time between surgery and chemo. Computer info does the trick, I guess, I am still on chemo break since April 30 and feel stronger and SO much happier! I am willing to continue only if they prove to me that it will benefit me.
