My thyroid was removed in 1996 along with three parathyroid glands, leaving my just one. The remaining gland began to fail a few years ago. I am taking Forteo now, and hopefully will be able to take it for three years, ending in July 2025. After that I will be taking Fosomax and Calcitronin. I am concerned about taking Calcitronin and kidney stones. I am 77 years old, osteoporosis -3.1 in hip flexors, and a bit worried about living with a failing parathyroid gland.
