Why did your Drs say no to gabapentin? Are you taking any other meds for your fibro? I also have fibro with daily pain and don't know what to do. My Dr recommended a low dose of gabapentin, which I am considering. Thanks.
1kay2, I understand & empathize. I have found as I get older, it has worsened and has had 3 friends to join in: osteoarthritis, Hashimotos & Graves Disease. I personally believe FM is an autoimmune disease.
I cannot take Gabapentin. I felt like a zombie....even on 50 mg! I do use Aspercreme with Lidocaine Spray and it helps. My doctor has tried just about everything with me and the only thing that works is Prednisone. I feel wonderful on it when I have had to be on a taper. He wanted to put me on a low dose for the rest of my life and I wouldn't do it due to the side effects of it long term.
If I could tolerate NSAIDS, I could occasionally take that on my worst of days, but, I don't tolerate them well. I only take Tylenol and Flexeril on my worst days (1/2 of a 5 mg tablet), hot bath soaks in Epsom Salt, Voltaren Gel & Heat Packs.
I wouldn't wish FM on anyone. I am praying for you and God Bless You! Soft Hugs....
