The first thing is to identify what is going on- SVT or atrial flutter_ and for how long, or is it continuous. The doctor may not have felt you needed a patch monitor but you can wear one for a week or even a month.

It seems they were concerned about your immediate safety. That is why you could not leave.

I would be careful about thinking just giving up caffeine and eating less or whatever is going to keep you safe.

If it is flutter, again, you need anticoagulation first and foremost to prevent stroke. Your heart will tire out beating this fast. Even if you don't feel anything and are used to it, you are not entirely safe.

Once no anticoagulation, pick up a copy of The Afib Cure which would apply as well. I do things like magnesium at night, potassium via low sodium V-8 juice a couple of times/day, CoQ10, never eat after 5 or 6, never lie on my right side etc. etc. But you don't have episodes that are triggered , like me. It sounds like yours are more continuous. @newatrialflutter160

Eliminating caffeine entirely DID / DOES get rid of my heartbeat issues. And for me just having 1/2 cup or even 1/4 cup coffee, I had problems.
