Hi
I am done radiation for breast cancer As of april 2.24. Wondering if anybody else has experienced this prolonged fatigue. And if anybody has this weird Feeling in your brain like it's exhausted. Spoke to my radiologist nurse today. And she is going to send a note to my oncology radiologist. Doesn't matter how much sleep I get. By 4;00 I am done. Very frustrated 😠

I didn’t let it get to me. Every treatment day I lay down and relax for 30 minutes before starting anything. It did help. Continue my day after it. Every treatment day. It will get better. Good luck

Hi I am done treatment. I had no side effects during treatment. It is 8 weeks since I stooped. I also have fibromyalgia which has never been this bad until radiation

@sue417 I had radiation therapy for endometrial cancer (pelvic radiation). Twenty five sessions. During the radiation I walked every day and kept up with my exercise sessions for about one hour two times per week. I was fatigued off and on. The fatigue really set in after I finished the radiation therapy but it let up within a few weeks later. I'm thinking that the radiation affected the fibromyalgia and so kind of makes sense to me that you are even more fatigued. When you met with your radiation oncologist (I met with them weekly during my radiation therapy) did they have anything to say about how radiation therapy would affected fibromyalgia?

Hi
No.
He did not talk about any side effects to do with my radiation. the technician's when I was done treatment told me that I would probably get some fatigue the week after I stopped but that was the only thing that was said to me. I have also been having issues with my Blood Pressure. Since my radiation. My diastolic has been dropping in the fiftys. Trying to get an appointment with my cardiologist. I spoke yesterday with my radiation nurse in London and told her what was happening. So she was going to send a note to my oncology, radiologist. I do take medication for blood pressure and have for 5 yrs. I have never had low blood pressure which this is dramatically low to the point I feel like I may pass out. It drops After I eat breakfast an hour after By the afternoon it Comes back up.

I had 5 months of chemo before 33 radiation treatments. The chemo fatigue had me beaten. There were days I sat in my car trying to find the energy just to walk to the hospital entrance let alone all the way inside. To regain my strength I started walking 5 blocks to radiation. I averaged 4 days out of 5 for those 6 1/2 weeks. It was a struggle those first weeks, but I pushed through. I guess I missed radiation fatigue, because my energy levels went up rather than down.

I know you posted a while ago. I had 30 treatments of radiation after a lobectomy. The target area was a lymph node on the side of my left breast. It has been 3 months since I ended radiation. I started PT to help build some strength.

I am weak and the PT is helping me focus on building back muscle strength. How are you feeling now that some time has passed?

I just finished last week too. My muscles are so fatigued I have really bad spasms. My head throbs when they go to my neck and head. I feel like doing things (once I get myself out of bed) but when I try to push thru I’m miserable later! Going to PT (when I can get there) last week had to cancel because I didn’t feel like driving! Hoping this week will be better!

I had 16 radiation treatments and 4 boosters. I'm at 4 weeks after treatment and still have fatigue. It's not horrible and I'm dealing with it. My oncologist said it can sometimes take months to go away. I also had total knee replacement surgery a couple of months before the DCIS diagnosis, biopsy and 3 lumpectomies so my body has a lot of healing to do. I think my biggest issue is that I feel guilty for not doing the things I normally would be doing this time of year but I just can't muster up the energy to do them. Such as planting flowers and a garden. I look at all of it as just overwhelming - so I've decided to not do them this year. I'm 72 so that might be a part of it as well. It's frustrating but I'm glad to be alive and that this was caught early.
