PharmaMan- Hazel and I are reading a new book: "The secret History of Kindness - Learning from how Dogs Learn" by Melissa Holbrook Pierson. It's a book about positive reinforcement, operant conditioning and clicker training - all stuff I thought I know pretty well, but somehow this book opens us to a much finer level of communication. And on our walks Hazel is managing to get past the deer herd and certain difficult dogs without losing it. Whew! [Some of our neighbors feed the deer and we are overpopulated with deer.]
They say you can't teach an old man new tricks, but Hazel will tell you otherwise.

@edsutton A quote: “When the student is ready, a teacher appears”.
Sounds as though Hazel has been a source of some learning. Anything you would care to share?
