@popolopo Hi Lioness here it sounds like it is but the leads go inward by the spine I'm not sure how it works yet just investigating it now .

I believe the spine stimulator is like a TENS unit on steroids. They test you with a TENS unit to see if you respond to it and if you do then they give you the stimulator. I have a pain pump much

the spine simulator will act like a tingle when there is pain. it is similar to a TENS unit. I have talked to a churc member who has a spine stimulator who says it has not helpedhim eith his lower back pain. I have stenosis at L3-L4-L5 and am in the process of getting epidural shots in the lower back.hiowever getting these shots you have to have your blood sugars monitored since these will cause gluscose levels to rise......kozlo52

Those shots never gave me more than five or six days of relief when I was getting them. If a TENS unit works for you then the spinal stimulator will probably work for you. That's how they test you to see if you're a good candidate for the stimulator. Right now they're probably just giving it to anybody who asks about it because they don't want to give them any kind of opioids for pain relief. I failed on the TENS unit test so they didn't give me a spine stimulator. Instead they gave me the pump which is inserted in my belly and has a catheter running up my spine leaking tiny amounts of Dilaudid directly to the nerve endings. And it works. Not this morning however. I spent two hours last night planting two apple trees my wife was given and it's the hardest I've worked in 4 years since I had cancer and every inch of my body hurts this morning. I should mention I am partially disabled and use a cane or a walker so 2 hours on my feet with a shovel in my hands was a bit extreme. But what baby wants, baby gets.ok

@kozlo52 Welcome to connect and I'm glad to read your post as the injections aren't working for me anymore A new pain Dr suggested a spine cord stimulator I would be on a trial basis but so far I've heard 3people said after awhile it didn't help so I am wondering if I should start or not Thanks for your reply I appreciate hearing from you and @wsh66aboit this

@wsh66 Lol that's a good husband lol I have a Tens I use at home so if that's all it is I,ll have to consider I had a triple by pass in 1998 and a L2fracture which has caused my nerve entrapment to legs I refuse surgery . I,ll have to see what other people say before I consider it Thanks

I'm going to see a surgeon in a couple of weeks and see if there's a surgical solution to my back. The pain pump lets me function but I could do a lot better if they could fix the nerve is pinched on the west side. It's a risky surgery because they might cut through my catheter that leaks the Dilaudid into my spine.

Hey Lioness, how are you? I’m in need of help from my Connect cyber friends. My brother supports us financially and the $ is gone. We’re facing eviction. He works only part time. Because of my health problems, I can’t go into a women’s center. There are no relatives and apparently no friends to help. I need help with prayers and good thoughts. Karen you need to contact Social Services. If your net worth is spent down below a certain level not including your home you will be eligible for services both financial and for medical help. I don't know the rules where you live but I know in Minnesota it's fairly liberal and you can get medical help and there is no better Insurance than ma insurance through Medicare but you don't have to be 65 years old to collect if you are truly destitute. Call social services and ask for an assessment. Love and blessings
